1. 100% Client-Side Processing

Unlike most online image converters or mergers, MergeJPGs does not upload your images to any remote servers for merging or resizing.

All image handling—including file importing, sorting, cropping, joining, and canvas rendering—is performed locally inside your web browser using JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas. Your images never leave your computer or mobile device during the process.

2. Fetching Images by URL

If you choose to use the "Paste URL" feature to load an image, your request may be processed through a server-side proxy route (/api/proxy-image) to bypass browser Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) security restrictions.

This proxy fetches the image data streams dynamically on-the-fly and returns it directly to your browser session. We do not save, log, cache, or review any images that pass through this proxy.

3. Cookies and Web Analytics

Like any other website, MergeJPGs may use basic cookies or local storage settings to remember your tool preferences (such as selected formats, background colors, and margin preferences) for your convenience during future visits.

We may also use standard third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to monitor traffic patterns, page usage statistics, and visitor browser types. This data is fully aggregated and anonymous, containing no personal data or image information, and is used solely to improve our user experience.

4. Google DoubleClick DART Cookie & Advertising Partners

Google is one of the third-party vendors on our site. It uses cookies, known as DART cookies, to serve ads to our site visitors based upon their visit to www.mergejpgs.org and other sites on the internet.
